Hey guys! Sorry it has been so long since I talked to all of you. As you know I have been very busy in Massachusetts with my grandmother. I got home Sunday morning, (yesturday). BV is coming over in about 5 minuets so I can not type too long. Nothing really else is going on in my life. My brother is having some drug problems, but other than that my life has been pretty uneventful. My grandmother is going to go to rehab so she can get stronger to go home soon. i am so happy for her. Thank You all for praying for her and my family. I am going to go now because BV will be here shortly. God does wonders.!!

Hi Andrew,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to read, that your grandmother is feeling better. Whats about your brother? Is he older than you? I guess he's not living with you and your mother, cause i never read about him before or haven't I read all your blogs?
A big {{hug}}

That is good news Andrew about your grandmother. You mentioned your brother having some 'drug problems' and I hope you will talk to him about it cos it may mean more to him to hear it from you than parents. Booze and drugs are problematic for young people cos their brains are generally developing until the mid-twenties. Constant exposure causes chemical and wiring changes in the brain that take a long time to reverse after quitting (ask any cigarette smoker). Addiction/dependence sneaks up slowly over the years and by the time one realizes it the quitting process is not a pleasant experience to put it mildly. Even today's pot is much more potent than in the past, and eventually becomes very addictive. The bottom line is if you can't do something in moderation and on a take-it-or-leave-it basis, then you quit it for good; but you have to ask yourself the question, do you have the self-discipline and self control it takes to mess around booze and drugs and quit if necessary? (not to mention the expense!) Best not to start in the first place cos you are not missing anything except possibly ruining your life. Stick to exercise for a high. Nice you have a good friend like BV. bfn - Wayne :)
